My death has come. October 29, 1618

I knew that when we got back to England, I was going to be executed. Like I said, when we got back to England I was arrested and in pursuance of the king's promise to Gondomar, Iwas executed under my old sentence on the 29th of October1618. My death was not painful, and I was not tormented. I was beheaded. My death was short and painless. I died with serenity and dignity. My wife, Bess, survived me. and Carew Raleigh. My enmity to Spain made me a popular hero. I was buried in St. Margaret Churchyard, Westminster, London, England. Goodbye. Thank you for listening to my exploration.

This is my favorite picture, which was of me   being knighted by the Queen. :)

1616-1617

In 1616, I was again confined to the Tower of London. Being confined wasn't hard for me, because I could write more. I was confined there for a year, until the King told me that if I was guilty of piracy, that when I came back from my exploration, I would be killed. The expedition, which spent all of his money, reached the Orinico on the last day of 1617, meaning it took them nine months to get there. I was ill, so I stayed back, but I sent five vessels up the Orinoco under his most trusted captain, Lawrence Keymis. The expedition found a small Spanish settlement on the way to the supposed mine and a fight occured. This fight killed one of my sons and several Spaniards. After some days of fighting with the Spaniards, Keymis returned with news of my son's death. Stung by my reapproach, Keymis killed himself. Then, after hesitating and mutiny, our expedition returned home.

This is a map of my voyages.

On the Explorations! 1589-1595

This is a painting of the Essex.

It's 1588, and I am in Ireland with Sir Richard Grenville, because I had received a challenge from the Essex, that never led to an encounter with them. The Essex was an American ship that came from Nantucket, Massachusetts. In 1589, I was, again, in Ireland. I had already made a friend, Edmund Spenser, and I visit him at his house in Kilcolman. Also in 1589, I accompanied his expedition to Portugal, which was intended to cause a revolt against King Philip the II, but failed. In 1591, I was forbidden to go on the voyage to the Azores, and I was replaced with Sir Richard Grenville. Grenville was killed in action with the Spaniards, and his death was one of the subject of my most vigorous pieces of writing. In 1592, I was again at sea to intercept the Spanish trade, but the Queen called me back. This was because I had seduced one of her maids of honor, Elizabeth Throgmorton. When I returned, I was put in the Tower of London, and if he was not already married, he was married there. I made a good husband and my wife was devoted to me. Together, we had three sons and a daughter. Carew, Walter, Damerei, and Elizabeth. Although, Elizabeth was stillborn, or died in infancy.

Let's go! April1584-1585

'Ello Mate! Above is an informational video of my life, so I hope you like it! :)

Gilbert and I are ready to go! Together, we managed to bring abroad our ship a few others. Around one hundred-ish. We finally got the patent to sail to America and settle there.

I sent out two captains, Philip Amadas and Arthur Barlowe, on a voyage of exploration. They sailed by the Canaries to Florida, and from there followed the coast of North America as far as the inlet between Albemarle and Pamlico sounds in the modern state of North Carolina. The name of Virginia was given to a vast and undefined territory, but none of Raleigh's captains or settlers reached the state of Virginia.

In that same year, I became a member of Parliament in Devonshire, the same place I was born. My first body of settlers were sent out in 1585 under Sir Richard Grenville, who is related to me, landed on what is now Roanoke Island, North Carolina. The settlers had gotten on bad terms with the natives, and deserted the colony when Grenville visited the coast in 1586.

Let's Prepare! 1578

We must prepare! We have to prepare! Let's prepare, for the journey of a life time!

I am preparing to go with my half brother, Sir Humphrey Gilbert, on a "Voyage of Discovery." As you already know, I was in the army at age seventeen. Then, I decided to quit my volunteering and join Gilbert on his exploration. I shall be a privateer, which is also known as a pirate, against the Spanish.

Our ship, The Falcon, is only approximately seventy-five feet long and we were going to sail with it. I admit, I am very anxious, for I am going to go to America! Soon enough, Humphrey and I remembered that we must prepare. Our first few days on our exploration are going to be long, tiring, and hard. That is why we asked others to come along. If there are more people, then we have a better fight against the Spanish, and we can all take shifts.  And so the journey begins!

Introduction!! :)

Hello, I am Sir Walter Raleigh. Below is a short video of information on myself. :) Hope you like it, aye!
